Meet Our Director Of Training – Gregory M. Vecchi, Ph.D.
Gregory M. Vecchi, Ph.D. is a U.S. Army veteran with over 30 years of law enforcement experience. He is a retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent and Chief of the FBI Behavioral Science Unit and a career hostage negotiator. During his career, he investigated targeted violence, kidnapping, transnational organized crime, international drug trafficking, international and domestic terrorism, and outlaw motorcycle gangs. In these positions, he gained extensive experience assessing and interacting with violent offenders. Dr. Vecchi was formerly a full-time instructor at the FBI National Academy and he is a Certified Master Trainer in Threat Evaluation and Reporting with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Dr. Vecchi serves as the Director of Training at SafeDefend, where he develops and deploys research- and evidence-based training programs in targeted violence prevention and response. These training programs provide clients with the confidence and skills necessary to manage and survive an active killer threat, especially during the critical time gap between the beginning and end of an attack.
