About me


Life has come full circle for Hector Sanjurjo. As a child growing up outside of New York City he was consistently obligated to "Fight the Bully." This mindset drew him to the U.S. Army. He served for 7 years on Active Duty, spending 2 of those years stationed on the Demilitarized Zone in the Republic of Korea. He spent another 20 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, ultimately retiring with 27 years of service to our nation. Upon departure from Active Duty, he became a State Trooper. In that capacity, he served in various positions, assigned to several Specialty Units. He has been a District Trooper, Recruit Class Counselor, Field Training Officer, assigned to the Motorcycle Enforcement Unit, the Criminal Interdiction Unit, and the Honor Guard. While assigned to the U.S. Army and Army Reserve, he began his career as a Machinist, and transitioned into Combat Arms serving as a Cavalry Soldier, Cavalry Instructor, Drill Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant of a Military Intelligence Unit and a Senior Drill Sergeant. Prior to coming on board with Safe Defend, he has worked as a State Trooper, Private Security Contractor, sold Durable Medical Equipment, Residential Security Systems and is a Licensed Insurance Agent and Former District Manager. He brings experience and perspective on the issues of Workplace Violence and Active Shooters. He has devoted his life to "Fighting the Bully." He is forever a Soldier, a Trainer, and a Teacher. He's married, a grandfather, and his hobbies include Reading History, Learning to play several instruments, Cooking, Music, and Cigars.
